Our villa is situated in the sunny Languedoc region of South Eastern
France, near the Mediterranean. The region, rich in culture and history,
was one the first Roman colonies. This part of France has great beauty,
with its mountains (Pyrenees), vineyards and sandy beaches. Good wines
and food are synonymous with this unique region.

Villa Mandalay is situated on the edge of a small village, Salleles D'Aude. This beautiful modern villa is enclosed in an area of 1200 square meters, surrounded by trees, with a large lawn. The villa itself comprises a living area of 100 square meters, and has a garage also.
DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
There is a spacious open plan living area that includes the kitchen, dining and living room (50 square meters).
The kitchen is fully fitted, with a breakfast counter, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, electric oven/grill and gas hob, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The dining area has a large dining table with enough room for 6 people. It opens out onto the terrace through patio doors.

The living area has a three-piece suite, a TV with satellite connection (Sky news, CNN, etc.) and local French TV stations. There is also a stereo system with radio, CD and cassette player. (If you like music, bring along your favourite CDs and tapes!)
There are three bedrooms, one double-bed, and two twin-bed. They all have fitted wardrobes. The double-bed and one of the twin-bed rooms open out directly on to the terrace through patio doors.
The terrace is fully furnished with sun canopy and is an ideal place to enjoy meals, sip wine or just relax and read in the shade. There is a built in barbecue area beside the terrace, where you can cook the wonderful produce of the area.
The bathroom has a bath and a separate enclosed shower unit, and is spacious and well decorated. There is a separate WC, with sink.
There is a washing machine in the garage.
There is a new 8m by 4m swimming pool installed to cool you down when it gets hot. This will be cleaned and maintained throughout the season. It has a maximum depth of 1.6 meters

SALLELES D'AUDE Salleles D'Aude is located in the department of Aude. It is famous for the discovery of ancient Roman pottery and there is a museum located there today. Salleles is located on the river Aude, and also on the Canal De La Robine, which feeds into the famous Canal Du Midi nearby. The canal is exactly 2 minutes walk from our villa, so you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the canal under the shade of trees and watch barges pass by. There are two restaurants (one is a Pizzeria) in Sallele D'Aude, and there is a local supermarket. There are two local Boulangerie to provide you with your fresh baguettes every morning. ABOUT THE AREA Beziers and Narbonne are 2 sizable towns that are with 30 minutes drive and provide grand cathedrals, museums, markets for the most avid shopper, shopping centers, and numerous special events, concerts, and fetes. Ten minutes further on are sandy Mediterranean beaches that seemingly stretch for miles from Cap d'Agde to Gruissan Plage. For climbers and walkers hills abound from the Minervois, boasting deep red wines, and walks amongst the garrigue, to the Corbieres with abbey and art studded villages like Lagrasse, and mountain top castles like Queribus and Peyrepertuse that defy gravity. Activities from golf to water sports abound, as well as numerous fine restaurants for dining, and exhilarating wine caves offering scintillating wines for tasting and purchasing at very reasonable prices. ACCESS International airports are at Montpellier (1 1/2 hours), Carcassonne (45 minutes), Toulouse (2 hours), Perpignan (45 mins) and in Spain at Barcelona (3 hours). Narbonne railway station is 30 minutes. |
