DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

The house, Maison Delacroix, was built in the 1700s and in four floors. We have recently renovated a large part of the house and we have tried to adapt the renovation so that one can feel the genuine French atmosphere coupled with today's amenities, like wireless internet and flat screen TV.

First floor

Fully equipped kitchen with stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, built-in dishwasher, and washing machine. A dining room with French balcony and a view of the market street. There are dishes for 8-12 people so you do not need to run the dishwasher so often. Cookbooks available if you need inspiration for your own cooking!

A large bedroom with the old stone floor preserved, (there is a small paw print in one of the floor rocks beside the bed...) the room has one double bed. The room has great views over the village from the French balcony. Small bathroom with shower just outside the room.

Fourth floor

Lounge with two large sofas where you can enjoy a glass of wine after a busy day of shopping or perhaps relaxing after a day at the beach. Flat TV with lots of channels.

PEZENAS

Pezenas is a historic town with a population of about 8000. It is in the heart of the Languedoc region of the South of France a vast winemaking area. The town has several bakeries and shops just outside the house. The Saturday market is a must for anyone who loves Mediterranean food.

In Pezenas you can explore the winding cobbled streets and watch local craftsmen blowing glass, making jewellery or potting the local brightly coloured Provencal ceramics. After a morning of discovering the arts and crafts gift shops and artists galleries you will be ready to drop into one of Pezenas's many colourful cafes and restaurants either in the old town square or tucked away in the many ancient twisting alleyways. Saturday is market day and Pezenas offers a wealth of local produce, flower stalls, and colourful clothing accompanied by the sounds of jazz or local folk groups

SURROUNDING AREA

The Mediterranean beaches from Cap d'Agde to Sete are 20 minutes away, where one can dine on fresh oysters and a glass of Picpoul de Pinet!

The Languedoc region and the historic towns and villages that bring so much rustic charm to this colourful region. Or for lovers of wildlife, spend the day walking in the close mountains and experience the rich flora of Herault. For the sun worshippers, there is a choice of golden beaches all within easy reach. There are many colourful fêtes and local events, which take place in the summer months to give you a true flavour for the region. The local tourist office provide a wide variety of information on places of interest and a summer programme of spectacles and events.

The area has large numbers of medieval towns and villages to visit including St Guilhem-le-Desert and the Cite of Carcassonne. Just over hours drive will take you to the heart of 'Cathar' country with its imposing castles and monastries such as Montsegur and Queribus.

Plenty of activities are to be found near to us including golf, horse Riding, sailing, fishing and tennis. For the more adventurous the Spanish border can be reached in about 90 minutes and a further hour takes you to Barcelona.

ACCESS

Montpellier (50 mins) and Beziers/Cap d'Agde (20 mins) are the nearest International airports with regular daily flights. Alternatives are Nimes (45mins), Carcassonne (1hr), Toulouse (2hrs), Barcelona-Girona (2hrs).

All the airports have car hire available. If travelling by train, there are stations at Bezier and Agde. There is no rail connection to Pezenas therefore It is necessary to take a bus. Buses also run direct from Montpellier to Pezenas.
