PEZENAS AND SURROUNDING AREA
Pezenas is an old fortified town in Herault, Languedoc Roussillon, with magnificent 17th century houses that have been beautifully restored. The large city of Montpellier with its international airport and train station is 52 km away. Agde 20 km, Beziers 25 km and Sete 36 km. The beaches are about half an hours drive away. The area is filled with great history and pretty villages and of course great wine!
Pezenas surrounded by the peaceful meadows and vineyards is at its center vibrant with its charming pavement cafés, huge choice of traditional restaurants and numerous antique shops.
The Saturday market is not to be missed. There is a large selection of local produce - olives and olive oil, cheese, hams and saucisons, and fresh fruit, as shown in the photos.
There is also a large range of wonderful summer cultural events including concerts, festivals and art galleries.
