Cazo Market at Saint Chinian View Larger Map	ABOUT CAZO AND SURROUNDING AREA Cazo is a pretty hamlet between St Chinian and Bize Minervois - near the villages of Villespassans and Assignan. In St Chinian there are supermarkets, shops, wine stores, cafés and restaurants. There also is a beautiful swimming pool. The market is held twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday under the plane trees in the big square , and is especially lively on Sundays. A short drive is Roquebrun, with its marvelous Mediterranean garden, and the river Orb - perfect for bathing and canoeing. Close is the village of Villespassans - that has a small general store, for basic provisions. Further on are the village of Bize Minervois, on the river Cesse - where there is a deep pool for river swimming, the "Oulibo" a renowned olive press and store as well as numerous restaurants. To the south west is the Cathar village of Minerve, astride 2 deep river gorges, - known for its bloody history as well as its excellent red wines and restaurants. The Mediterranean is about 45 minutes drive - but well worth the visit for the endless sandy beaches, as well as visits to Narbonne, with Cathedral, shops, and roman history; or Beziers, with Cathedral, old town, and its Summer Feria - with bull fighting and serious partying in the streets! ACCESS International airports are within easy driving distance - Montpellier (60 mins), Carcassonne (60 mins), Perpignan (60 mins). There are railway stations in Narbonne and Beziers (40 mins) with TGV connections to Paris and beyond.
