This pretty, one bedroomed house, "1b, Rue de la Savonnerie" nestling in the back streets of the old mediaeval village of Quarante, has been recently renovated to create a comfortable house for two people.
ACCESS
Quarante is about half an hours drive from the middle-sized towns of Beziers and Narbonne, where there are main TGV train stations, plus all the main car-hire companies. Ryan air do very competitively priced flights from Stanstead to Carcassonne, Perpignan, both of which are about 1 hours drive from Quarante, and there are also several car-hire companies to be found at these airports. Equally British Airways, Buzz and Air France do flights from London to Montpellier, about 1 hour 20 from Quarante. Toulouse and Barcelona are also within easy driving - 2-3 hours, and are perfect for international air flights coming from all over the world.
You can now fly direct from Beziers Cap d'Agde airport (30 mins drive) to London Stansted, or Bristol.

ACCOMMODATION
After parking your car in the square, a one minute walk along Rue de la Savonnerie, brings you to 1b.
You enter through the mediaeval arched doorway in to the kitchen and dining area, with tiled floor. There is plenty of cupboard space, a table with four chairs, an electric cooker and large fridge.
Stairs go up to the bedroom, with double bed, chest of drawers and large full length window looking down on to the street. The en-suite shower-room has basin, toilet and shower, with a cupboard off that houses the hot water heater and washing machine.
Stairs up from the bedroom lead to the sitting room with comfy seating and sliding patio windows out on to the terrace.
The terrace has a table, chairs and a BBQ. The terrace is not over looked, offering complete privacy.

Abbey church at Quarante
The house is situated in the old part of the village, and retains a sense of antiquity with its narrow streets and arched doorways.
The church dates back to the 10th century, but there are remnants of a Roman settlement scattered around the square. Quarante boasts two bars (one having a restaurant), a bread shop, an exceptional butcher, a small supermarket, a chemist and a hairdresser. Who could ask for more?!
5 minutes drive from Quarante is Capestang, a larger town offering more amenities and a great Sunday street market. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, and there are many walks and trails that take you through the vineyards and garrugue, and up in to the hills. If you want to visit a city, Narbonne and Beziers are only 20 minutes drive away, and although the nearest beach is 40 minutes drive away, there are a few local rivers that offer wonderful freshwater swimming.
